An unexpected scenario unfolded on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru when a passenger became stuck in the aircraft’s lavatory throughout the flight. The airline has since apologized and reportedly offered compensation for the unfortunate incident.
The passenger was finally freed after the plane landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers were able to open the jammed toilet door.
The incident took place on a Monday night flight, which was delayed by two hours. A passenger, after entering the restroom shortly after takeoff, discovered they were unable to exit due to a faulty lock, which created a mid-air situation.
As the crew attempted to assist the passenger, they resorted to communicating through a handwritten note passed under the door. The note requested the passenger to remain seated on the toilet until the aircraft reached Bengaluru.
The note was shared on social media and gained considerable attention. The public found the situation amusing and highlighted the crew’s handwriting.
The flight arrived in Bengaluru at around 3:45 AM. Engineers then opened the door. SpiceJet acknowledged the incident, expressing regret and issuing an apology to the affected passenger.
