Mahindra is preparing a facelift for the Thar three-door model. The current Thar, popular for its off-road capabilities over the last five years, will be updated to keep pace with the competition. A test vehicle sporting a new front fascia has been observed, suggesting the upcoming design revisions. The facelift may integrate features from the Thar Roxx. With new models planned, including the recently sighted Bolero, the updated Thar might be unveiled during the festive season.
The interior could include the steering wheel design of the current model with the 10.2-inch TFT screen from the Thar Roxx. The test vehicle did not have a sunroof, but the production version could offer features such as ADAS and ventilated seats. The lack of a 4×4 transfer case gear selector suggests the test vehicle was rear-wheel drive.
Exterior modifications will include a redesigned front fascia with an updated grille, headlights, tail lamps, and modified fenders. Engine options could include a 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 1.5-liter diesel, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The transmission choices are expected to be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
