Mahindra presented the Vision S concept, a new SUV design study, on Independence Day. The concept vehicle is likely to be a part of the Mahindra Scorpio family. This new offering was showcased alongside other concepts like the X, T, and SXT.
The Vision S boasts a striking exterior design. The front features LED headlights and a grille with integrated LED elements, along with the Mahindra twin peaks logo. The bumper includes a radar unit and parking sensors. Unique design cues include roof-mounted lights and pixel-shaped fog lamps.
The Vision S is prepared for off-road adventures, with robust cladding along the doors and wheel arches. It features 19-inch wheels with star-shaped rims. Side-mounted cameras replace traditional ORVMs. The rear design includes inverted tail lamps, a bumper reflector unit reminiscent of the Bolero Neo, and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, bearing the Vision S branding.
The interior of the Vision S introduces a redesigned layout, including a new steering wheel with VISION S lettering, a digital driver’s display with new graphics, and an infotainment system expected to run the new NU UX system. The cabin features dual-tone upholstery, redesigned door trims, premium seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Grab handles are positioned to enhance accessibility.
Underpinned by Mahindra’s NU-IQ platform, the Vision S shares its underpinnings with the Vision T, SXT, and X concepts. The platform is suitable for SUVs ranging from 3,990 mm to 4,320 mm in length, and is adaptable for petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, offering front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. An ICE version of the vehicle is expected, likely with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, along with features such as variable-ratio steering.
