Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Victoris SUV, with its official launch and price details expected shortly. The Victoris is designed to challenge existing market leaders such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. A notable highlight of the Victoris is its impressive 5-star safety rating achieved in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The tests covered several variants, including the ZXI+ Strong Hybrid eCVT, ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid eCVT, and ZXI+(O) 6AT, with the high safety rating applying across all tested models. The inclusion of ADAS further enhances the safety profile of the Victoris.
The Victoris is built on the new Global C-platform by Suzuki and features a range of innovative attributes. The vehicle will be available through Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, designed to cater to a wide range of customers. Maruti Suzuki is aiming to strengthen its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market and capitalize on the growing preference for utility vehicles. The SUV includes ADAS and other advanced safety features.
The Victoris emphasizes safety through its Safety Assist technologies, which are standard across all models. These include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection systems, side head protection airbags, and seatbelt reminders. Advanced driver aids are also available.
In the adult safety assessment, the Victoris achieved a strong score of 31.66 out of 32. It scored 15.66 out of 16 in the frontal offset test and a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side impact test. The vehicle also showed good performance in the side pole impact test. Standard features like front airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, and side curtain airbags contributed to the robust results.
In child safety, the Victoris delivered a solid performance, scoring 43 out of 49 points. It scored maximum points in the dynamic assessment and also scored well in the CRS installation category. The vehicle demonstrated high levels of safety for children during crash simulations.
