A SpiceJet passenger experienced an unfortunate situation during a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, being locked in the aircraft’s lavatory for the entire flight. The airline has apologized to the passenger and reportedly offered a refund in response to the incident, which has captured the attention of many online.
The passenger was eventually freed upon the plane’s arrival at Bengaluru airport. Ground staff and engineers worked quickly to open the locked toilet door. The incident reportedly unfolded on a Monday night. The flight was delayed, taking off from Mumbai at 2:10 AM instead of the planned 10:55 PM.
The passenger, seated in seat 14D, entered the restroom shortly after the flight departed. A faulty door lock prevented them from exiting. Despite the crew’s efforts, the door remained stuck. To provide some comfort, the crew slipped a handwritten note under the door, advising the passenger to remain in place until the flight landed in Bengaluru.
The crew’s message, which was photographed and shared online, quickly gained traction. The handwriting and overall situation were a source of amusement for many users. The flight landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM, and an airport engineer opened the door. The airline has issued an apology and expressed regret for the incident.
