
A passenger aboard a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had an extraordinary and unfortunate experience when they were trapped inside the aircraft’s restroom throughout the flight. The incident, caused by a faulty door lock, has prompted apologies from the airline and has captured the attention of many online users. The airline also reportedly offered the passenger a refund.
The passenger was finally freed after the aircraft landed in Bengaluru, with ground crew and engineers assisting in opening the locked door. The flight departed from Mumbai at 2:10 AM, delayed from its original 10:55 PM schedule. The situation arose shortly after takeoff when a passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom, only to find themselves unable to exit.
Following unsuccessful attempts by the crew to unlock the door, the staff crafted a handwritten note. The note was passed to the passenger through a gap in the door, instructing them to remain seated on the toilet until the plane landed in Bengaluru. The situation, including the note, quickly became viral on social media.
