August 2025 presented a mixed bag of results for Mahindra & Mahindra. The company’s total sales were largely consistent with the previous year, but a closer look reveals contrasting trends across different vehicle categories. SUV sales in the domestic market experienced a drop, declining by roughly 9% year-on-year. This downturn is partially attributed to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding potential GST reforms, which has led to a cautious approach among potential buyers. Conversely, the commercial vehicle segment performed well, with sales increasing by 12%. Export figures also saw a positive surge, rising by 16%. Looking ahead, Mahindra is planning a series of new SUV launches in India, scheduled to roll out by the end of 2026. These upcoming launches will include refreshed versions of existing models and the addition of new electric vehicle options to cater to the evolving market demands. The manufacturer is optimistic about the sales boost during the upcoming festive period. The XUV 3XO may offer a new hybrid option.
