Kia is gearing up to launch an updated version of the Seltos, as evidenced by recent sightings of a test vehicle. Despite heavy camouflage, the test mule provided glimpses of redesigned headlights and a modified front fascia, indicating a new look. The updated Seltos is expected to be available early next year.
The exterior design will likely incorporate features from the EV9 and Syros models. The test mule displayed classic SUV characteristics, including an extended wheelbase. New design elements will include a concave grille placed between the headlights and new fog light housings. The rear will also see changes, possibly including a continuous bar light.
In addition to exterior updates, the interior will be redesigned, with the dashboard and other interior components taking inspiration from higher-end Kia models.
Engine options are expected to remain largely unchanged. The facelifted Seltos will likely be available with a 115Hp 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 160Hp 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, and a 116Hp 1.5-liter diesel engine. Kia India might also introduce a new hybrid powertrain, potentially electrifying the 1.5-liter NA petrol engine. The updated Seltos will compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Curvv.
