Maruti Suzuki has launched the Victoris SUV, a new mid-size SUV that aims to compete directly with the Hyundai Creta. The Victoris is offered in six trim levels: LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O). Based on the Grand Vitara platform, the Victoris shares many features with its sibling, while also introducing new and exclusive elements. The vehicle will be available through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships.
The Victoris enters a competitive segment, facing off against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, Toyota High Rider, and Volkswagen Taigun. It slots in between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in Maruti Suzuki’s product range. Maruti Suzuki plans to export the Victoris to over 100 countries.
A notable aspect of the Victoris is its hybrid powertrain, making it the first Arena model to feature a hybrid system derived from the Grand Vitara. The hybrid system uses a 92 bhp, 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine combined with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 115 bhp and 141 Nm of torque. The Victoris will also be offered with a 1.5-liter K15C petrol mild-hybrid engine (103 bhp) and a CNG option (89 bhp).
The strong hybrid powertrain comes with an e-CVT gearbox, while mild-hybrid and CNG variants have a 5-speed manual transmission. The mild-hybrid version is also available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. A key differentiating factor from the Grand Vitara is the underbody CNG tank, a first for Maruti Suzuki in India, improving boot space.
Inside, the Victoris resembles the Grand Vitara in many ways, but it adds segment-first and Maruti-first features to enhance its appeal. Key features include a premium Dolby Atmos audio system and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), making it the first Maruti Suzuki to offer both. The Victoris also features a powered tailgate.
The feature-rich SUV comes with a 10.1-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient door lighting, leatherette seats, a sunroof, a 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, rear AC vents, Suzuki connected car features, a head-up display (HUD), a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, a reverse parking camera, cruise control, ISOFIX mounts, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, ESP with hill hold, and more. The Victoris has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP. The car is available in Eternal Blue and Mystic Green with dual-tone color options.
