The automotive market is anticipating a flurry of new launches as the festive season approaches. Maruti Suzuki and Renault India are preparing to launch a new mid-size SUV and an updated Kiger in the coming months, specifically on September 3 and August 24, 2025. These new vehicles are expected to make a mark in their respective SUV segments. The upcoming Maruti SUV, tentatively named Maruti Escudo, will introduce features never before seen in a Maruti car in India. The updated Kiger is set to be one of the most budget-friendly subcompact SUVs available. The Renault Kiger, a subcompact SUV, will undergo a mid-life refresh. Teasers reveal the updated model will feature C-shaped taillights, a sporty rear bumper, and a shark fin antenna. The 2025 Renault Kiger is set to receive substantial design modifications, including a redesigned front fascia with the Renault logo and a new grille design. Interior enhancements are also expected. The Kiger facelift will maintain the existing 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engines, generating 72PS and 100PS of power. It will be offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes, alongside a CNG kit available as a retrofit. Maruti Suzuki has yet to officially disclose the specifics of the upcoming model scheduled to hit showrooms on September 3, 2025. However, the new mid-size SUV is referred to as the Maruti Escudo, and it will boast Dolby Atmos audio technology and Level-2 ADAS. It will be equipped with a 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) system, setting it apart in its class. The Maruti Escudo will share its powertrain, platform, features, and design elements with the Grand Vitara, offering three engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter strong hybrid, and a CNG option. Expect minor cosmetic changes. Media reports suggest the Escudo will be slightly larger and have more cargo space than the Grand Vitara.
