Nissan is poised to introduce a new car in the Indian market, as evidenced by a recent teaser video. The video presents a location crafted for observing the night sky, situated at a height of 4,500 meters above sea level, accompanied by the message “Now see something more” and the call to “Stay tuned.” While the automaker has not yet disclosed the model’s name or specific details, the vehicle is anticipated to be a 7-seater car akin to the Renault Triber. Nissan had earlier confirmed the forthcoming launch of a new compact MPV in India, which will share its foundational platform, key features, and engine with the Triber. Renault recently unveiled the 2025 Renault Triber with notable enhancements to its features and subtle design adjustments. Nissan is expected to unveil more details about its upcoming model in the coming weeks. The new sub-compact MPV from Nissan was initially teased alongside a new mid-size SUV, which is slated to be based on the third-generation Renault Duster. The official teaser provided a preview of the MPV’s front, showcasing Nissan’s signature grille, a sporty bumper with silver accents, new LED DRLs, functional roof rails, and redesigned alloy wheels. Although this 7-seater family car will differ in appearance from the Triber, both models are projected to share comparable dimensions. The Renault MPV measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,739 mm in width, and 1,643 mm in height. The forthcoming 7-seater from Nissan will incorporate the same powertrain as the Renault Triber. The Triber is powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing a maximum of 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options will comprise a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. In terms of pricing, the car is poised to be one of the most competitively priced 7-seater vehicles in India, with an estimated starting price of approximately Rs 6.5 lakh. The current price range for the new Renault Triber spans from Rs 6.30 lakh to Rs 9.17 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
