
Oppo is set to enter the Indian market with its Reno 14 Series, increasing the rivalry among smartphone brands. The series, which was initially released in China during May, will be sold on Amazon and Flipkart in India. The Indian model is expected to be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8450 chip. It is also expected to have a 50 MP main camera and AI-driven tools for superior functionality.
The Pro variant will be equipped with a 6200 mAh battery. The launch date is July 3. The virtual launch event will be live-streamed via Oppo’s social media channels at 12 PM IST. The company has been promoting the upcoming launch through social media and a special website.
In line with its Chinese version, the Oppo Reno 14 Pro 5G will probably feature a quad-camera setup. This setup will include a 50MP OV50E 1.55-inch sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP OV50D sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5 x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The Reno 14 will be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8450 chipset and will come with a 6,200 mAh battery, supporting 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
The alternative version will have a triple-camera setup. It will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX883 sensor with a 1.95-inch pixel size and OIS support, an 8-Megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto sensor. Both phones will come with a 5-Megapixel front camera that has autofocus capabilities. Building on the current trend of integrating AI-based features, the phones will include Voice Enhancer, AI Editor 2.0, AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Style Transfer, and AI Live Photo 2.0.
Oppo has not disclosed the prices yet. However, according to media reports, the prices in India will be in line with the Chinese versions. The Oppo Reno 14 5G was launched in China in May at a price of CNY 2,799 (around Rs 33,200) for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model, while the Reno 14 Pro 5G is priced at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs 41,500) for the base 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option. The Reno 14 series will launch globally on July 1 at 6 PM.
