The Indian SUV market witnesses a new entrant with the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, aiming to challenge established players like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. These two models have long been popular due to their design, features, and brand appeal. With the introduction of the Victoris, a price comparison becomes essential. The base petrol manual variant of the Victoris comes in at approximately ₹10.49 lakh, while the Creta’s base model (E 1.5 petrol MT) begins at around ₹11.10 lakh, giving the Victoris a price advantage of about ₹60,000. In the mid-range, the Victoris (VXi and ZXi) is priced between ₹11.79 lakh and ₹13.57 lakh. The Creta (EX and S trims) falls between ₹12.5 lakh and ₹15-16 lakh, making the Victoris slightly more affordable. The automatic variants of the Victoris are available from ₹13.35 lakh to ₹17.7 lakh. The Creta’s SX and SX(O) automatic variants reach ₹19-20 lakh, again highlighting the Creta’s higher price point, roughly ₹1.5-2 lakh more on average. Comparing the Victoris with the Seltos, the base Victoris is priced at ₹10.49 lakh, while the Seltos’ base HTE (O) 1.5 petrol MT is around ₹11.19 lakh, rendering the Seltos about ₹70,000 more expensive. The mid-range Victoris (VXi, ZXi and automatic) is priced at ₹11.79 lakh to ₹17.7 lakh. The Seltos (HTK, HTK+, HTX) ranges from ₹12.5 lakh to ₹18 lakh, giving Victoris a slight edge in pricing. The top variant of the Victoris (hybrid CVT) is priced close to ₹19.99 lakh. The Seltos GTX+, Diesel AT, and X-Line variants are priced above ₹20.5 lakh. Generally, the Victoris offers a more economical choice across various trims. Although the Creta is positioned at a higher price point in the base and mid-segments, it is feature-rich. The Seltos provides a premium package, but its price exceeds that of the Victoris.
