Renault India has announced price reductions on its car models, with savings reaching up to ₹96,395. These reductions are directly attributed to the recent GST 2.0 reforms implemented by the government. The revised prices will be effective from September 22, 2025, aligning with the commencement of Navratri. Bookings at the new rates have already begun. Renault India’s MD, Venkatram Mamillapalle, stated that the company is committed to passing the complete GST benefits to its customers. The goal is to make Renault vehicles more accessible and boost demand during the festive season. The Kwid model will see reductions up to ₹55,095. The Triber offers a maximum benefit of ₹80,195, and the Kiger provides the highest savings, up to ₹96,395. This initiative makes the entire Renault range more competitive. The GST Council recently lowered the tax slab on small vehicles and two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent. Electric vehicles continue to be taxed at 5 percent. This will result in lower prices for small cars and bikes, while SUVs and bikes with engines above 3500cc will be subject to a 40 percent tax. The price cuts will directly benefit customers and are anticipated to stimulate sales during the festive periods of Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali, which are traditionally peak car-buying seasons. Renault’s action follows a similar move by Tata Motors, illustrating how automotive companies are quickly responding to the revised GST structure. The Renault Kiger includes features such as an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, multiple drive modes, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a range of safety features like airbags, a tire pressure monitor, and hill start assist, along with comfortable amenities like leatherette seats, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a multi-view camera, a wireless charger, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps, and a 6-speaker audio system with 3D Arkamys surround sound. The Renault Kiger is available with two engine options: a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72hp and 96Nm, and a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine generating 100hp and 160Nm. The NA engine comes with either a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine also offers a CVT gearbox in addition to a 5-speed manual.
