Renault India is gearing up to launch the updated Kiger SUV facelift on August 24th. The teaser campaign confirms the upcoming release and highlights the updates to this sub-compact SUV, originally introduced in 2021.
The facelift arrives amidst a surge in demand for compact SUVs, intensifying competition in the segment. The Kiger is expected to see feature enhancements and cosmetic updates similar to the Nissan Magnite, launched in October 2024. The Kiger will contend with established players such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite. Price points are expected to be slightly elevated compared to the current model.
The updated Kiger’s design is anticipated to incorporate a new Lime Green color, an updated 2D diamond logo, a new grille, redesigned bumpers, sleek headlamps, and LED DRLs. The rear will likely feature new LED tail lamps.
The engine options will remain the same, with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, along with manual, AMT, and CVT transmissions. A CNG version will be available through dealer fitment. The interior is also expected to receive updates, including new materials, upholstery, and dashboard layout adjustments. Expected features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. Six airbags are likely to be offered.
