Renault is set to re-enter the Indian SUV market with the next generation Duster. Renault India is currently focusing on refreshing its existing vehicle range, as demonstrated by the recent updates to the Triber and Kiger. The Duster’s return marks a significant step in Renault’s efforts to strengthen its position in India. The launch date, while unconfirmed, is speculated to be in early 2026. The third-generation Duster has already been introduced in South Africa, available in a right-hand-drive format and priced around ₹23.36 lakh. With the Duster no longer available since 2022, Renault aims to fill the gap within its existing lineup (Kwid, Kiger, and Triber). The Duster’s segment is highly competitive, featuring SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Citroën C3 Aircross. The new Duster will be built on the CMF-B modular platform, and potential powertrain options include a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system, and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG dual-fuel engine.
