A new retrofit system is being developed that will allow existing diesel engines to run primarily on hydrogen, marking a significant advancement in clean fuel technology. This innovative approach aims to dramatically cut down on emissions, specifically carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, and to improve overall engine performance, with efficiency gains potentially reaching 26%. The system facilitates this by replacing the diesel injection system and directly injecting hydrogen into the engine. The system is designed to efficiently utilize lower-grade hydrogen. This innovation is particularly relevant in light of governmental initiatives to promote eco-friendly mobility. The system is expected to be commercialized soon, targeting fleet operators and businesses with existing hydrogen infrastructure.
