September 2025 is shaping up to be an important month for the automotive industry, with several new car launches planned. The pre-festive season will see the debut of approximately five new vehicles, promising a busy period. Maruti will lead the launches, paving the way for the arrival of VinFast and a refreshed Mahindra model. Here’s a breakdown of the cars expected in September 2025.
Maruti Escudo
Maruti is gearing up to release a new India-made SUV, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. The vehicle will be sold through Arena showrooms. The name could be Escudo, Victorious, or Saber. While it may share Suzuki’s Global C platform, it’s expected to have modifications for a longer wheelbase and more interior space.
VinFast VF6
Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast will enter the Indian market with its VF6 model. The SUV is currently in production at the VinFast plant in Tamil Nadu. The VF6 will be offered in two variants, with six exterior color options and two interior themes available depending on the variant selected.
VinFast VF7
Joining the VF6, VinFast will also launch the VF7 electric SUV. Both models were first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in early 2025. The VF7 is planned to be offered in three variants, with six exterior color choices and two interior design themes.
Mahindra Thar Facelift
The Mahindra Thar 3-door, first launched in 2020, is due for an update. A facelift is expected in September 2025, bringing refreshed styling and new features. Similar to the Thar Rocks, the updated Thar will feature circular LED headlights and new alloy wheels. Anticipated features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch full-digital driver display, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.
