Enthusiasts can anticipate the arrival of the Skoda Octavia RS in India, with Skoda India releasing a teaser video on social media. The model, previously previewed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is generating considerable buzz. As the flagship sedan, the Octavia RS will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit, impacting its pricing and positioning within the premium segment. This strategy aims to attract buyers seeking a combination of performance and luxury. The teaser elicited positive responses from Octavia RS fans, with expressions of excitement and anticipation. Reservations are slated to begin on October 6th, with Skoda set to reveal the official pricing soon after. The Octavia RS will feature performance enhancements, including a 2.0-liter TSI, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque and is coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, mirroring the powertrain found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI, also launched this year. The car is built on the MQB Evo platform and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). The Octavia RS will compete with vehicles like the Audi A4, BMW 2 Series Grand Coupe, Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine, and the Toyota Camry.
