The Hyundai Creta, a mainstay in the mid-size SUV market since 2015, is about to face stiff competition. Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are preparing to launch the Maruti Victoris and Tata Sierra, respectively. The Victoris is anticipated before Diwali, with the Sierra (electric variant) scheduled for an October/November 2025 release.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is offered in six trim levels: LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI (O), ZXI+, and ZXI+ (O). It is available for booking at Arena dealerships with a booking amount of Rs. 11,000.
The Victoris showcases Level 2 ADAS, a Dolby Atmos audio system, and an underbody CNG tank. It will be available with three engine options: a 103 bhp, 1.5-liter mild hybrid petrol, a 116 bhp, 1.5-liter strong hybrid, and an 89 bhp, 1.5-liter petrol CNG.
The Tata Sierra EV is poised for an Indian market return in the coming months. It features a contemporary design, a tech-integrated interior, and multiple powertrain choices. Initially, an all-electric version will be available, followed by an ICE model launch in early 2026. The EV powertrain may be derived from the Harrier EV, offering dual battery pack options and a QWD system.
The ICE-based Tata Sierra will incorporate a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine. A turbocharged 1.5L petrol engine is also planned. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a built-in dashcam, Level-2 ADAS, and other advanced features.
