To maintain its stronghold in the market and appeal to cost-conscious buyers, Tata Motors is planning a significant expansion of its petrol car offerings. The company is preparing to launch four new petrol vehicles in the Indian market within the current fiscal year, providing customers with a range of economical and premium options.
Tata Punch facelift: The Tata Punch, a popular model, is expected to undergo a facelift, with the updated version arriving in October. The facelift will include design changes to the bumper, grille, and the inclusion of 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior will also likely feature enhancements, such as a new digital instrument cluster.
Tata Harrier: The Harrier is anticipated to be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, which delivers 168hp and 280Nm of torque. The launch is expected between January and March. It’s possible the SUV will be offered with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
Tata Sierra: The Tata Sierra is anticipated to launch early next year. Tata Motors might offer this vehicle with two petrol engine choices. A 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine variant could deliver 168hp and 280 Nm of torque. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated version may also be made available for customers who prioritize fuel efficiency and affordability. Both engines are expected to come with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic transmission potentially available on the turbocharged engine version.
Tata Safari: The Safari, a three-row model with options for 6 and 7 seats, is anticipated to launch between January and March, featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The adequacy of power and torque remains to be seen.
