The Tata Sierra is currently in its final testing phase, with a market launch planned for the coming months. Recent spy shots reveal a camouflaged test mule with design elements such as a boxy shape, a shark fin antenna, and flush door handles. The use of steel wheels and hubcaps suggests this is the base model. The higher-spec production models are anticipated to incorporate 19-inch alloy wheels.
The wheel arch cladding, the raised bonnet, and the unique curved rear window contribute to the SUV’s distinctive appearance. The Sierra will feature a split headlamp configuration at the front and a connected LED light strip at the rear.
Inside, the Tata Sierra is anticipated to feature a three-screen floating setup. One screen will act as an infotainment system, another as the instrument cluster, and a third screen will be dedicated to the front occupants. The interior will also feature a dual-tone dashboard, a Harman sound system, a four-spoke steering wheel taken from the Harrier EV, an illuminated Tata logo, and ambient lighting.
Some premium features, such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS, might be absent from the base variant of the Tata Sierra. However, other features such as a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, and electronic stability control are expected.
The Tata Sierra is slated to debut with an electric powertrain, sourced from the Harrier EV. The Harrier EV uses a 65kWh battery with a single motor setup and a 75kWh battery pack, offered with both single and dual motor options. The smaller battery variant is projected to offer a range of 538 km, while the larger battery variants can achieve 627 km (75kWh RWD) and 622 km (75kWh AWD).
The ICE-powered Sierra, equipped with new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, will be introduced early next year. The SUV lineup will also include a new, more potent 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine at a later date.
