Tesla is accelerating its expansion in India’s electric vehicle sector, with plans to open its second retail centre. The new Tesla Experience Centre will be located at the WorldMark 3 campus in Aerocity, Delhi, and is set to open on August 11. It will cater to customers in the National Capital Region, a crucial area for the growth of electric vehicles in India. This expansion comes shortly after the opening of Tesla’s first showroom in Mumbai, which took place on July 15 at the Maker Maxity Mall. The Mumbai launch was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who welcomed Tesla to the state and invited the company to set up research and development, as well as manufacturing units. The Aerocity centre is in the final stages of construction, with an estimated monthly rent of about Rs 25 lakh. Images of the upcoming outlet have appeared on social media, reflecting the brand’s premium image. Currently, Tesla offers only one model in India, the Model Y, with prices starting at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the Model Y are being prioritized in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram, with vehicles being delivered directly to homes via flat-bed trucks.
