
Tesla’s new long-wheelbase Model Y has been unveiled in China, representing a strategic move to cater to the demands of the local market. The long-wheelbase version offers enhanced cabin space with a six-seater configuration. The Model Y L also boasts an improved range, making it more appealing to consumers. Tesla aims to boost its sales figures in China by introducing this model. The exterior of the Model Y has been updated with a longer design. Inside, the interior features the same design with a new 2+2+2 seating arrangement. The second-row captain seats come with heating and ventilation and can be electrically folded. The third-row seats have only heating functions. The car includes a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 18-speaker system, air vents for the second and third rows, cup holders, and a black headliner. The Model Y L’s motor delivers 190 bhp and the rear motor gives 265 bhp. The car’s 82 kWh battery provides a range of 751 km. The Model Y L is available at a starting price of 3,39,000 yuan (approximately ₹41.17 lakh) in China. The long-wheelbase Model Y will be sold alongside the standard wheelbase version, providing Tesla with a competitive edge against Chinese manufacturers like BYD and NIO.
