TVS has introduced the Orbiter, an all-new electric scooter positioned below the iQube model. The launch event emphasized the Orbiter’s unique characteristics, showcasing its range and features. The scooter incorporates an IP67-certified traction motor and battery. The Orbiter distinguishes itself with a design focused on rider comfort, featuring a flat floor and a longer seat. The scooter comes in six color options: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. It includes a high-mounted headlamp with integrated DRLs. The EV features an 845 mm flat seat for relaxed riding. With 169 mm of ground clearance, it rides on 14-inch wheels. The scooter offers 34 liters of under-seat storage and 290 mm of additional footboard space. The Orbiter is the first scooter in its segment to include cruise control, featuring safety checks for rider protection, a USB charging port, and hill assist. The Orbiter is designed to offer a range of approximately 158 km on a single charge. Its connected cluster provides Bluetooth connectivity for features like live location tracking, anti-theft alerts, charging station updates, and vehicle health monitoring. A motor cut-off safety system prevents acceleration in case of a fall. The 158 km range is provided by a 3.1 kWh battery pack, and a 94 km range option will be available with a 2.2 kWh battery pack. The Orbiter is priced at ₹99,000 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) and is available for booking on the TVS website. A table presents a comparison of the Orbiter with the Honda Activa-E, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Suzuki e-Access, highlighting key specifications.
