TVS has launched the Ntorq 150, a new sporty scooter designed to capitalize on the success of the Ntorq 125 and the increasing market demand for such vehicles. The Ntorq 150 features a more powerful engine and a modern design compared to its predecessor. Available in two variants, pricing starts at ₹1.19 lakh, with the top-spec TFT variant costing ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). It also offers consumers a choice of four dual-tone color schemes.
**Design**
The Ntorq 150 showcases a contemporary and sharp design, which TVS has specifically created for a younger audience. The front-end design is quite striking, and the available color options—Turbo Blue, Stealth Silver, Racing Red, and Nitro Green—are appealing. Notable design features include a quad-projector LED headlight setup, stylish LED DRLs, LED taillights with the “T” logo, 12-inch alloy wheels, winglets, a sporty exhaust, split grab rails, a street-style handlebar, a 5-inch TFT display, and updated switchgear.
**Specifications**
To maximize the use of space, the Ntorq 150 is equipped with a glove compartment and a retractable hook. The under-seat storage capacity is 22 liters, and a USB Type-A port is included, although a boot light is not present. The scooter can accommodate only half-face and small full-face helmets. It retains 12-inch wheels on both ends; TVS states that larger wheels could compromise the top speed. The wheelbase measures 1,285 mm, matching the Ntorq 125, and it offers improved handling characteristics. Additional features include a telescopic front fork, mono-shock rear suspension, front disc brakes with ABS, rear drum brakes, and a parking brake.
**Features**
The Ntorq 150 has a 5-inch TFT display, offering a wide array of features. According to TVS, it has 22 segment-first features, positioning it as one of the most advanced scooters available in India. A 4G eSIM allows for a range of connected features. The display automatically adjusts brightness based on ambient light conditions and offers both day and night themes.
Key features include a top-speed recorder, a 0-60 km/h timer, smart watch connectivity with Alexa, Android, and Apple, crash alert, live vehicle tracking, last park location, weather updates, social media notifications, music control, call/SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The TFT display is controlled via a 4-way navigation button. Both brake levers are adjustable.
**Engine and Power**
TVS claims the Ntorq 150 accelerates from 0-60 km/h in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 104 km/h. During testing, it reached approximately 99-100 km/h. The scooter is powered by a 149.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, generating 13 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. The exhaust note is strong, but vibrations are noticeable at idle. Its weight is just 115 kg, making it lighter than some 125cc scooters. It offers two riding modes: Street mode, with engine start/stop technology for fuel efficiency, and Race mode, for increased power and the inclusion of the TVS iGO assist.
**Final View**
Although the design may not appeal to everyone, the handling and riding dynamics are widely praised. The braking system is effective and reliable, the front brakes providing robust stopping power with the benefit of ABS. However, some features, like keyless start and self-canceling indicators, are missing. The under-seat storage space could have been larger, and larger wheels might have improved the overall experience. The TVS Ntorq 150 is an advanced, feature-rich petrol scooter that will appeal to those seeking a sporty design and enhanced technological features.
