TVS is preparing to introduce the Orbiter EV, an electric scooter intended to slot beneath the iQube in its electric vehicle portfolio. The launch is scheduled for today, August 28th, as announced by TVS. The Orbiter distinguishes itself from the iQube by being a completely new model developed with a different approach and a focus on attracting a broader consumer base. While the exact features and specifications remain undisclosed, industry sources indicate that TVS is developing a simplified, economical electric scooter that utilizes a hub-mounted motor. The Orbiter is envisioned as the entry point into TVS’s EV offerings. Along with the Orbiter name, TVS has also trademarked alternate names like EV One and O. The iQube is available in multiple variants, suggesting the Orbiter may follow a similar structure. With the iQube’s price points ranging from ₹1 lakh to almost ₹2 lakh, the Orbiter is projected to offer a more accessible price point through the use of a smaller battery, simpler components, and a reduced set of features.
