Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, was involved in a close call on Saturday morning when a truck struck his convoy in Vaishali district. The incident occurred near Goraul as he was traveling back to Patna after a political gathering in Madhepura. The convoy had paused for a short break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at around 12:30 AM. While Yadav was taking a break, a truck collided with several vehicles in his security detail. Fortunately, Yadav was not in his vehicle at the time and escaped injury. However, three security officials were injured and immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured personnel and showed concern for their well-being. The injured officials are reported to be stable, although they sustained injuries. The truck driver was apprehended at the scene, and the vehicle was taken into custody. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. The accident has brought to the fore the concerns surrounding the safety of political leaders traveling on Bihar’s roads, particularly during late-night journeys. RJD supporters took to social media to express their relief that Yadav was safe and called for enhanced road safety. Party leaders have also advocated for a detailed review of VIP security protocols on the roads, especially in situations with poor visibility. Tejashwi Yadav has returned to his regular activities and has assured everyone of his safety.
