Sushil Salaam, Kanker. Under the guidance of Collector Kanker and with the innovative efforts of Jailer P Renu Dhurva of District Jail Kanker, prisoners in District Jail Kanker are conducting the board examination. With the aim of including the prisoners convicted in the pending Naxalite case into the mainstream of the society, the effort to include them in the Chhattisgarh State Open School 10th and 12th examination 2024 by filling the forms has borne fruit.
Six prisoners are appearing in the 12th open board examination being conducted by the Open Board in the district jail in the year 2024. It may be noted that last year, after accepting the proposal by Chhattisgarh State Open School Raipur, District Jail Kanker was declared as new examination center 0817 and ordered. Now, every year, from security point of view, jail prisoners are getting the opportunity to appear in the main and opportunity examination twice a year in September and April.
In the examination held in September 2023, most of the prisoners have passed the 10th and 12th examinations. Giving information, Wajid Khan, in-charge of the Open Coordination Center said that free textbooks have been provided to them. After the establishment of the center in the jail, now one is getting the opportunity to appear in the examination conducted every year.
