Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. The body of a young man was found in suspicious condition in Koni police station area. The family and friends of the deceased have accused the police of beating him and have suspected murder. On seeing the dead body, the family created a ruckus in the SIMS mortuary. There are marks of serious injury in many places on the body of the young man. Koni police is investigating the matter.
According to Vishnu Sahu, friend of the deceased, he had gone for a walk with his friends Roshan and Bajrang Sahu. All three were together till 10 pm. Both of them left Roshan at home and went away. On Saturday morning, the police driver came. He told that Roshan had died. When they reached there at 9 am, the dead body was lying there. There are injury marks all over the body.
In this case, the police says that on the night of June 7, around 1.30 am, four unidentified people riding two bikes were trying to rob the driver and helper of a Swaraj Mazda by threatening them near the National Highway Lokhandi Overbridge. During this time, Koni police was on patrolling. A young man was caught in the dark. His friend ran away into the field. In the morning it was found that he had died. The police claim that one accused is in custody. One ran away under the influence of alcohol, which is being investigated. When the family members created a ruckus demanding a fair investigation and action against the culprits, the police assured them of a fair investigation and action after the postmortem report came, after which the matter calmed down.
A gang of robbers is active on the national highway
