Aamir Khan, often celebrated as Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist,’ is currently the subject of industry discussions regarding his upcoming film ventures. After a successful return this year, attention turns to his future projects. A significant development has emerged, with a major film being put on hold. The decision, which has reportedly affected the director, has raised questions about the factors behind it.
Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani were set to collaborate on a biopic centered on ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’. This project generated excitement, promising a reunion after successful films like ‘3 Idiots’ and PK. However, this film has been paused, disappointing fans. Further details explain the reason for the delay.
Reports reveal that Aamir Khan reviewed the script for ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’ presented by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. Khan believed the script lacked the essential qualities needed for a successful theatrical release. He anticipated a blend of comedy and emotion, similar to his previous hits, but the script did not deliver this. He was reportedly not satisfied with the script, leading him to request Rajkumar Hirani to rewrite and resubmit.
Rajkumar Hirani was reportedly surprised by Aamir’s feedback. Abhijat Joshi also expressed shock at the situation. Production for this film was slated to begin in October. However, before filming could commence, changes were made. Khan is now looking into different scripts and meeting people in the film industry to review their stories.
In addition to the ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’ biopic, the superhero project with Lokesh Kanagaraj has also been put on hold. Disagreements on the creative direction between Khan and Kanagaraj led to this decision. While Lokesh Kanagaraj may proceed with the superhero film with a different actor, the project is currently inactive.
