Renowned actor R Madhavan has revealed a surprising vulnerability: a persistent anxiety and fear that he is no longer capable of acting. The ‘Shaitaan’ star shared in a recent interview that the pressure on film sets has intensified over time, leading him to question his own talent. He expressed a significant worry that people around him, including his professional support staff, might be judging his performance negatively.
‘It’s getting worse with every film,’ Madhavan stated, describing his feelings. ‘I feel like even my assistants are watching me and thinking, ‘It’s time to work with someone else now, he doesn’t know anything.’’ He detailed the unsettling sensation he experiences on the first day of a shoot, where he imagines others observing him and thinking, ‘It’s over, Maddy is finished,’ and ‘Now he doesn’t know how to act.’ This internal struggle, he admits, grows with each new cinematic endeavor.
With a career spanning numerous successful films and web series, Madhavan has proven his mettle time and again. His upcoming projects, including ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Legacy,’ signify his ongoing dedication to the art form. Madhavan’s candid admission serves as a powerful reminder of the mental fortitude required in the entertainment world, even for established artists.
