The third week of September 2025 witnessed the release of several films, with ‘Jolly LLB 3’ seemingly taking a lead. However, the other films, including ‘Ajey The Untold Story of a Yogi’ and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Nishaanchi,’ are facing challenges at the box office.
The Yogi Adityanath biopic, ‘Ajey The Untold Story of a Yogi,’ started with an opening day collection of 25 lakh rupees. Its earnings saw a slight increase on the second day, with a collection of 35 lakh rupees, bringing the total to 60 lakh rupees over two days. With a reported budget of 25 crore rupees, the film requires substantial earnings to be considered a success. The performance during the first weekend will be a critical factor.
Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Nishaanchi,’ known for his unique filmmaking style, has also had a modest performance. It opened with 25 lakh rupees, followed by 30 lakh rupees on the second day, bringing the total to 55 lakh rupees. The film’s ability to reach 1 crore rupees in its first weekend appears doubtful.
Comparing ‘Ajey The Untold Story of a Yogi’ and ‘Nishaanchi,’ both films are on a similar trajectory. Although ‘Nishaanchi’ had a higher budget, the Yogi biopic has shown slightly better earnings. However, considering their budgets, both films have underperformed.
