Several major film releases in 2025 proved to be financial failures, disappointing both audiences and producers. ‘War 2,’ part of the YRF Spy Universe starring Hrithik Roshan, was a major letdown. The film, budgeted at 400 crore, only managed to earn 237 crore in India and 365 crore worldwide. ‘Son of Sardaar 2,’ the sequel starring Ajay Devgn, failed to live up to the success of the first film, with earnings of just 46 crore in India. Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar,’ a highly anticipated project, also flopped, collecting only 100 crore in India against a budget of 200-250 crore. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ failed to gain traction, earning a worldwide total of only 23.81 crore despite a budget of 60 crore. ‘Game Changer,’ a big-budget South Indian film featuring Ram Charan, also proved to be a disappointment, earning 186 crore worldwide against a budget of 400-450 crore. Other flops included Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva,’ which collected only 33.9 crore in India against a budget of over 50 crore.
