Teja Sajja’s upcoming film ‘Mirai’ has secured a major OTT deal worth Rs 40 crore. This fantasy drama is scheduled for a multi-language release, including Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali, on September 12, 2025. The digital rights have been acquired by Jio Hotstar, accounting for a significant part of the Rs 50 crore production budget. This acquisition is one of the most expensive digital buys in Telugu cinema this year. The film’s financial strategy also involves revenue from music and satellite rights. Theatrical performance is expected to be a key factor in the film’s overall financial success. Theatrical rights sales in Telugu states have reached Rs 37 crore, with the film needing to gross at least Rs 34 crore to break even. Strong initial ticket sales suggest considerable audience interest, with expectations of a positive opening. Following the national acclaim for ‘HanuMan’, Teja Sajja’s popularity has expanded beyond the Telugu-speaking audience, and the Hindi release of ‘Mirai’ is keenly anticipated. The film, presented by Karan Johar, also marks the return of Manchu Manoj as the primary antagonist, a potential career-defining role. The film is directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and Anil Anand, and the cast includes Teja Sajja, Ritika Nayak, Manchu Manoj Kumar, Shriya Saran, Jagapati Babu, and Jayaram Subramaniam. Karthik Gattamneni directs the film, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad. The plot centers on a young protagonist who discovers a special shield designed to prevent a formidable adversary from obtaining the nine sacred texts of Ashoka, and the narrative follows his quest to understand the hidden powers of the universe.
