Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s on-screen chemistry has often translated to box office success. They have worked together in numerous films, many of which were loved by the audience. However, ‘De Dana Dan’ proved to be an exception, failing to recover its budget. The film’s underperformance was not salvaged even with the inclusion of Sunil Shetty in the cast.
In contrast, the pair has starred in successful films like ‘Sooryavanshi,’ ‘Welcome,’ ‘Namastey London,’ ‘Singh Is Kinng,’ and ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.’ The film ‘De Dana Dan,’ which was released 16 years ago, on November 27, 2009, could not replicate their prior successes. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Sunil Shetty, along with an ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav.
This action-comedy film, directed by Priyadarshan, was made on a budget of 60 crore rupees. However, it only managed to collect 48 crore rupees in India, resulting in it being labeled a super flop. Akshay Kumar continues to work on multiple projects simultaneously. This year alone, three of his films have been released. His upcoming project is ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ featuring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, set to release on September 19th. Akshay has also started shooting for Priyadarshan’s film ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
