The upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3,’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, is currently set for an international release on June 27, 2025, amidst the backdrop of escalating political tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly following the Pahalgam terror incident. Although the trailer has been released on Instagram, it is geo-restricted in India, prompting the message that it’s unavailable in the country. However, Indian users can access the teasers and songs from the film.
Even before its official release, the film has faced backlash from the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghaadi, which demands a complete ban due to the presence of Pakistani actors. The Union, representing the Indian film industry’s workforce, has requested the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to reject the film’s approval and prevent its theatrical release in India. The Union’s stance is based on national pride and concern regarding the industry’s engagement with Pakistani artists. This issue is compounded by the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025 and the ban on ‘Abir Gulaal,’ which had featured Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The government has also blocked the Instagram accounts of prominent Pakistani figures from Indian users, including Hania Aamir.
