The family of actress Disha Patani is grappling with the aftermath of a shooting at their house in Bareilly. The incident, which took place on Friday morning, involved two individuals on a motorcycle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The attack is linked to accusations that Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, a former Army officer, disrespected religious figures Saint Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. Gangster Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility for the attack on social media.
Jagdish Patani, Disha’s father, has rejected the accusations against his daughter and shared his experience of the attack. Speaking with TV9, he described how he faced a life-threatening situation when the attackers aimed a pistol at him. He escaped unharmed.
Jagdish said that he was at home when the firing started. The family’s dogs alerted him to the presence of strangers. When he opened the door, two individuals were standing there. After he asked who they were, they pointed a gun at him. He immediately took cover behind a wall. He believes the attackers used a foreign pistol and fired between 10 and 12 shots before fleeing.
Regarding the claim of responsibility by the Godara gang, Jagdish stated that he couldn’t comment and that anyone can make such claims in the media. He is waiting for the police’s findings. When asked about his daughter Khushboo’s alleged disrespect, Jagdish explained that Khushboo reacted to remarks made by Aniruddhacharya about women. He feels that this has been misconstrued to damage their reputation.
Jagdish thanked the police for their help. He mentioned that they were accustomed to dangerous situations due to his and his daughter’s history of public service. He appealed to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, to take action to prevent future incidents and to bring the culprits to justice.
