The vibrant world of Zootopia is getting a Bollywood touch! Acclaimed actress Shraddha Kapoor is set to voice the lead character, Judy Hopps, in the Hindi rendition of Disney’s eagerly awaited animation, Zootopia 2. The studio confirmed the news via social media, sharing a delightful graphic featuring Kapoor and the determined bunny cop.
Kapoor conveyed her thrill at becoming Judy Hopps, calling her “feisty, courageous, enthu cutlet aur cute.” She promised a special surprise for fans on November 28th, the release date for Zootopia 2 in Indian cinemas.
This sequel follows the monumental success of the 2016 original, which garnered an Academy Award for its innovative storytelling and diverse characters. Zootopia 2 will see Judy Hopps, originally voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, and her sly fox partner Nick Wilde, voiced by Jason Bateman, tackling a new, challenging case. A new antagonist, Gary De’Snake, a pit viper voiced by Ke Huy Quan, is introduced, hinting at further complexities within the animal city.
Directed by Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino, the film aims to deepen the narrative and character arcs established in the first movie. The cast sees the return of Shakira as Gazelle, and welcomes new talents like Fortune Feimster and Quinta Brunson.
