Actor Srikanth, known for his work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, has been remanded to judicial custody until July 7th. This action follows his arrest by Chennai Police in connection with a drug investigation. The arrest was prompted by a positive test for narcotics and the discovery of suspicious transactions on his mobile phone. During questioning, authorities gathered evidence connecting Srikanth to a drug network. Subsequently, he was brought before a magistrate and ordered to be held in jail. Srikanth intends to file a bail plea. During interrogation by the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU), he reportedly admitted to buying cocaine approximately 40 times, spending Rs 4.72 lakh through Google Pay. A blood test, conducted at a government hospital, also confirmed the presence of illegal substances. The investigation began after a former AIADMK IT wing member, Prasad, was arrested following a pub incident. Prasad implicated Srikanth as a frequent buyer. Another witness, Pradeep, corroborated this, stating he had seen Srikanth using drugs at several parties and named Prasad as the supplier. Srikanth’s filmography includes roles in films such as Manasellam, Varnjalam, Kanna Kandein, and Nanban, among others, with his career starting in 1999 with the television show Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal and later transitioning to film in 2002 with Roja Kootam.
