Anu Malik reflected on his career, stating that his success was significantly influenced by the visual appeal and association with prominent figures in the industry. He mentioned the importance of having the right faces, like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and others, to boost his songs.
He emphasized that he is still striving to get recognition for his father. He believes that if his father’s song ‘Saranga Teri Yaad Mein’ had been picturized on Raj Kapoor, it would have achieved legendary status.
‘I am still fighting for my father,’ he said. ‘If my father had gotten Raj Kapoor’s face for the song ‘Saranga Teri Yaad Mein,’ it would have become a cult song. I am lucky that I got Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. You understand what I am saying? What is visible in this country, only that sells. When giants like Shah Rukh and Salman joined him, my tunes became even more amazing. I cannot deny this.’
He also shared his experiences of being removed from projects and shows, but remained persistent in seeking work. He confessed that he continues to seek opportunities, approaching producers with requests for work because of his passion for music.
