
‘Rise and Fall,’ now streaming on Amazon MX Player, features Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh as a contestant, with daily updates surrounding the show. On the show, Pawan Singh, along with other participants, shared his experiences from his struggling days, revealing the significant contrast between his past and present.
During the program, a fellow contestant inquired about his life prior to his fame. Pawan Singh recounted a period when basic luxuries were unattainable, stating, “There was a time we slept on the roof with our family. We would watch planes and wonder how people were able to travel inside.”
He continued, “We used to travel in the general compartments of trains and would often gaze through the windows of the AC coaches, wondering what it was like inside. Nowadays, all these things are common for me; I don’t travel much by train now and only travel by flight. However, I haven’t forgotten and will never forget those times.”
Pawan Singh, a native of Jokhari village in Bihar, who is currently 39 years old, has dedicated approximately two decades to working in Bhojpuri cinema. His passion for singing was cultivated in his youth, performing with his uncle. According to Pawan Singh, his uncle provided him with music lessons in the 1990s. He began releasing musical albums around the year 2000.
In 2008, the release of his song ‘Lollypop Lagelu’ launched his career, making him an overnight sensation. That year, his film ‘Pratigya,’ which he co-starred in with Dinesh Lal, was also released. The film was a blockbuster success, along with its music. From then on, Pawan Singh’s popularity continued to rise. Today, Pawan Singh is a highly successful singer and actor in Bhojpuri cinema, with a growing presence in Bollywood.
