Akanksha Chamola, the wife of Bigg Boss 19 contestant Gaurav Khanna, has openly discussed her decision not to have children, referring to it as a ‘huge responsibility’ during her recent visit to the house. Her comments shed light on her personal priorities and perspective on motherhood.
While spending time in the Bigg Boss 19 garden with Malti Chahar and Pranit More, Akanksha was asked about her family plans. The conversation was prompted by Malti’s recollection of Gaurav Khanna’s discussion with an astrologer about having children. Akanksha responded clearly, ‘I am not planning to have children at the moment.’
She elaborated on her feelings, indicating a lack of internal desire. ‘I haven’t felt the inclination yet, and I foresee it being difficult in the future as well,’ she said. ‘It’s not something I feel from within. I don’t feel the need for a child.’ Akanksha suggested that a multitude of reasons points to her not being ready for this significant life step.
Akanksha clarified that her stance isn’t due to fear. ‘I don’t think I can be that responsible,’ she admitted, underscoring the gravity of parenthood. ‘Bringing a child into this world is not a simple task; it’s an immense responsibility. I don’t believe I can fulfill that duty to the best of my ability.’ She also mentioned her career aspirations as a driving force. ‘I want to build my career and achieve my ambitions. If people judge that as selfish, that’s their opinion,’ Akanksha added.
Gaurav Khanna supported his wife during the conversation, dismissing any notion of selfishness. Earlier in the season, Gaurav had spoken with a fellow contestant about his wish to have children, acknowledging that Akanksha was not currently ready for it.
