Dhanush’s latest cinematic offering, ‘Idli Kadai,’ has transitioned from the big screen to streaming, now accessible on Netflix. The film, which premiered in theaters on October 1st, officially launched on the digital platform on October 29th. Audiences can enjoy the movie in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
‘Idli Kadai’ showcases Dhanush in a multifaceted role as lead actor, writer, and director. The film is further elevated by performances from Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Raj Kiran, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, Samuthirakani, and Nithya Menen in a key role. This venture is co-produced by Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films.
The story revolves around Murugan, who harbors dreams larger than his village life. He ventures to the city seeking to fulfill his aspirations, leaving his family’s idli shop behind. Fate intervenes, prompting his return and a profound re-evaluation of his life and connections. The Telugu version, ‘Idli Kottu,’ experienced a challenging box office run due to concurrent releases of major films. Despite this, ‘Idli Kadai’ concluded its theatrical run with a substantial Rs 50.39 crore in collections, having earned Rs 11 crore on its opening day.
