The 77th Emmy Awards took place in 2025, and over the years, India has had the honor of winning several awards. Here’s a review of the instances when India won.
Subhash Chandra, the founder of Zee TV, was the first Indian to win an Emmy. He was awarded in the Directorate category in 2011. Ekta Kapoor followed in 2023 and also received the Directorate Award.
The web series “Delhi Crime,” featuring Shefali Shah and Rajesh Tailang, won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2020. The series is based on the Nirbhaya gang-rape case, with Rasika Dugal in the cast.
