The highly-anticipated film ‘Tiger vs. Pathaan,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, may be undergoing a creative overhaul rather than being cancelled altogether. Initial statements hinted at a temporary halt, but sources reveal that Yash Raj Films (YRF) is taking a fresh approach to the project’s direction.
Aditya Chopra, the head of YRF, is re-evaluating the future of the studio’s spy universe due to concerns that the existing narratives might be becoming repetitive. The goal is to inject fresh ideas into storytelling and presentation. This involves adjustments to the upcoming projects. The focus is to avoid formulaic storytelling by incorporating new concepts and inventive approaches to narrative.
The YRF Spy Universe began with Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) and expanded with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), ‘War’ (2019), and ‘Pathaan’ (2023), which marked Shah Rukh Khan’s entry as RAW agent Pathaan. The universe includes ‘Tiger 3’, ‘War 2’, and the upcoming ‘Alpha’, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.
Salman Khan was last seen in ‘Sikandar,’ while Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for his next role in ‘King.’
