October 2nd marks a significant date in the film calendar as Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ go head-to-head. The battle for box office supremacy is intensifying, with the release of advance booking numbers offering a peek into the potential success of each film on its opening day. The competition is getting interesting as the hype around both films is increasing.
The advance booking figures reveal the current standing. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is currently behind. The film has earned ₹1.01 crore, including blocked seats. Excluding blocked seats, the gross collection is ₹26.97 lakh. For the first day, 5,188 tickets have been sold across 1,597 shows. There could be major losses if there is no growth in the promotion.
In contrast, Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, being a pan-India release, is expected to generate higher revenues. Advance bookings support this, with the film already accumulating ₹4.77 crore for the first day, and ₹8.11 crore including blocked seats. A total of 1,31,470 tickets have been sold. The Kannada film industry is providing the strongest support. In the Hindi market, 10,000 tickets have been sold, contributing ₹28 lakh.
The budget for Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has seen a rise compared to the previous film, with an estimated ₹125 crore. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ has a budget of ₹80 crore.
