Malayalam rapper Vedan has received approval from the Kerala High Court to travel abroad for his upcoming concert tour. The court, presided over by Justice C. Pratheep Kumar, has modified two bail conditions previously set by the Sessions Court. These lifted restrictions include the prohibition on leaving Kerala and the requirement for weekly reporting to the investigating officer. Consequently, Vedan, whose legal name is Hirandas, can now proceed with his scheduled performances in Dubai, Qatar, France, and Germany, running from November 23 to December 20. The prosecution agreed to the modification, stipulating that Vedan must provide prior notification before any international travel and report to the investigating officer as requested. The case originated from a complaint filed in December 2022 concerning alleged sexual harassment. Vedan had secured anticipatory bail, but sought relief from the specific bail conditions he found overly restrictive. The High Court recognized his responsible conduct and compliance with bail terms for the past six weeks, leading to the revised order.
