Leonardo DiCaprio is paying a heartfelt tribute to the late actress Diane Keaton, remembering her as a “brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself” individual. The two actors shared a significant on-screen connection in the 1996 film ‘Marvin’s Room.’
DiCaprio, who was just 18 when he worked alongside Keaton, took to his Instagram Stories to share his fond memories. Alongside a photograph from the film’s production, he described Keaton as “one of a kind,” a “legend,” an “icon,” and a “truly kind human being.” His message conveyed deep respect and a sense of loss, concluding with, “She will be deeply missed.”
In the critically acclaimed drama ‘Marvin’s Room,’ helmed by Jerry Zaks, Keaton played the character of Bessie, the aunt of DiCaprio’s character, Hank. The film also featured powerhouse performances from Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro.
Adding a delightful touch to Keaton’s legacy, she once mistook Reese Witherspoon’s son, Deacon Phillippe, for a young DiCaprio in a social media post. While discussing “Male beauty,” Keaton commented on the photo, remarking on the subject’s looks and her past acquaintance with him. Witherspoon’s amusing clarification and Keaton’s surprised reaction highlighted her vibrant and memorable presence.
