Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is a key driving force behind this trend, having established a ‘Horror Comedy Universe.’ ‘Thama’ is the latest project to join this universe, building on the success of previous films including ‘Stree,’ ‘Bhediya,’ ‘Munjya,’ and ‘Stree 2.’
‘Thama,’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, has revealed a significant update following its initial announcement in 2024. The teaser for the film is scheduled for release on August 19, 2025.

Brace yourself this chapter is a love story, wilder and deadlier than anything you’ve seen before.”
The movie will also feature Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles. While the exact plot of ‘Thama’ remains under wraps, there are indications that the film will center around a vampire narrative.
Upcoming movies in the Maddock Horror Universe include Shakti Shalini, Bhediya 2, Chamunda, Stree 3, Maha Munjya, Pehla Mahayudh, and Doosra Mahayudh. Reports suggest that Kiara Advani will star in ‘Shakti Shalini.’ ‘Bhediya 2’ will see Varun Dhawan reprising his role, though the status of Kriti Sanon’s participation is currently unknown. Furthermore, rumors suggest Alia Bhatt may join this horror universe with ‘Chamunda’.
